music. However as far as holding up
the brand, we haven’t done much.
Patriotism in my country is very low.
We’ve seen what the Nigerians have
done with Afrobeat – they held on
to their brand but we didn’t. We are
so critical about each other that we
literally watched them take it away
from us and made something out of
it and now we’re complaining – it’s
almost like we’re envious, it gets on
my nerves. Instead of you holding
on to what you have you’re busy
arguing about if I created it.
CM: Is ‘Keep Your Eyes on the Road’
your favourite song?
RR: No, I like everything I create.
Every song hits a different mood.
CM: What inspired you?
RR: The love of music and the
excitement of the people.
CM: Then you moved into the night
life business.
RR: That’s an investment.
CM: Permit me to touch on your love
life.
RR: Love life? I don’t know if I have
much to say but…go ahead.
CM: You’re on your second marriage,
right?
RR: I sure am.
CM: What happened to your first
marriage?
RR: I wasn’t sure if I was ever going
to touch on this publicly or perhaps
no one has ever asked as far as I
can recall but it’s something I have
already addressed except that it was
in a song and interestingly it was a
hit song hahaha
CM: A song?
RR: Yes, ‘AH’ with KK Fosu.
CM: You cheated on your wife with a
friend?
RR: You see I have done many things
56 | Colossium . March 2020
in my life. Wild parties, threesomes,
lavish spending but what I have not
done is cheating on my marriage. If
you listen to the lyrics of the song
carefully you will get the story
because you have KK Fosu singing
Happy Day by
the chorus which was purportedly
Reggie Rockstone
is available on all apologizing for sleeping with his
music streaming friend’s wife and you have me
platforms
expressing my disappointment for
what had happened. Put the pieces
together and you will get the whole
story.
CM: Did you divorce her?
RR: No, we just went our separate
ways.
CM: What will you say to your son if
he says he wants to be a musician?
RR: Well, my son is into football.
He does love music but as I have
observed football is his thing.
If somewhere along the line he
develops a passion for it, I will for
him as my father did for me – support
him and see him through.
CM: That makes you a great dad,
doesn’t it?
RR: Well I like to do my best for my
children, support and be there for
them, you know hahaha.
CM: Have you benefitted from
Hiplife?
RR: Definitely, if not I will not be on
the cover of Colossium Magazine
hahahaha. I’m acknowledged for
what I did. I left the West and came
home to do something for Ghana and
Africa. It’s something the generation
after me will be proud of.
CM: Is there going to be a last album
from Reggie Rockstone?
RR: Yeah. I am actually working on a
new project. Something interesting.
CM: I’m grateful for your time.
RR: Anytime.
Well, my
son is into
football.
He does
love mu
sic but
as I have
observed
football is
his thing.
If some
where
along the
line he
develops
the pas-
sion for it,
I will for
him as my

for me –
support
him and
see him
