CLS: What won’t we ever catch you wearing?
LHL: Sleeveless stuff although you made me
wear one for the shoot.
CLS: What are you doing this year?
LHL: I have a handbag and sun glasses collec-
tions I will be launching this year.
CLS: What’s your favourite movie?
LHL: Set It Off. That’s a classic movie. I’ve been
watching it over and over again. I think I like
how positively women are portrayed in the
movie. I like it when women stand for them-
selves.
CLS: Are you a feminist?
LHL: Yes I am. I stand for everything woman. I
think that it’s important for women to be em-
powered not to overthrow men like it’s been
perceived but to contribute to the society.
CLS: Do you think we have a rape culture in
Ghana?
LHL: I don’t think we have a rape culture in
Ghana. Yes, we do hear stories of rape however I
will not put them in the ‘culture’ bracket because
if you do that then you’re looking at trends. For
instance you will have to consider how often
rape occurs, places they usually occur, who usu-
ally commit them and who they target and how
society perceives it– that’s not so here. That’s not
to say that we don’t have rapists in our society,
we do and I strongly stand against rape and any
form of abuse against girls and women.
CLS: What’s the last meal you ate?
LHL: Your noodles with cheese hahaha
CLS: That’s here at Urban Grill.
LHL: Yeah and I love it. I think Urban Grill is
a beautiful place. The food is amazing with a
serene environment to compliment. I have had
two cocktails here and they’re both amazing.
CLS: Final words?
LHL: A lot of people ask me how I got here. Well,
it’s been a lot of hard work. There are a lot of be-
hind the scenes people don’t get to see. It’s been
ups and downs. People go broke, others hungry
but it’s the passion that keeps us going.
CLS: It’s been great talking to you.
LHL: You too.
