September is National Apple Month, and it has been a tradition of ours to set aside the week of Sept. 18 to research, taste, peel, cook and can apples. We are going to discuss the numerous varieties of apples, have a taste test to identify types of apples, and pick some apples. Then, of course, we will peel, cook, and make applesauce so we can make our famous apple butter which we will be selling at our annual craft show in December. Some other apple related activities include: talking about Johnny Appleseed, making an apple (above) - There’s no better way to cool down on a hot craft, and if we get up enough courage, maybe summer day than to eat a big slice of watermelon. It is a time when all of the new shows premiere and the old ones return with new adventures. What were some of your favorite TV shows, both past and present? Through a variety of activities the week of Sept. 25 - 30, we will look at TV shows from the past, play a few game shows, and discuss how television has changed through the generations.
