Halloween Parade
Since we won ’ t be able to have our annual Trick or Treat night , we thought we could have our families decorate their cars and themselves and parade through our front parking lot with treats for our ladies and gentlemen .
We will be doing this on Saturday , Oct . 31 at 10 a . m .
We will meet at the Grace Community Methodist Church , just south of Buffalo at 9:45 a . m . We will parade down Locust St ., then turn onto Cooper St . which leads to our facility .
Don ’ t forget to dress up and bring lots of candy . This is going to be so much fun for everyone .
Please RSVP at 417-345-2228 .

Golden Age Games
This year ’ s Golden Age Games have been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic and many of our residents are bummed about not being able to participate .
So we have decided to sponsor our own games at our facility . We will play the same games that we do at the original games such as basketball toss , horseshoe toss , cow milking , soccer kick and hog calling contests .
Our games will occur Nov . 13 , but we will be practicing a lot this month so we can be ready to go for the gold .
More details will occur in next months newsletter .
New Activities
We have started a few new activities since we have been in our rooms much of the time . Some of these include daily reading material , puzzles , hair dresser day ( when Dawn cannot come ), library carts , snack carts with coffee , daily devotionals , movies and popcorn , and our all time Favorite , the weekly ice cream cart . Yum , yum !
If you have any activities that you would like for us to provide for you , please let Patrice , Taylor or Amber know so we can implement them .
Congratulations
We would like to congratulate Dottie Allen on winning the MHCA District 4 Beauty Is Ageless pageant in August . She competed virtually against five other candidates . Her beauty and kindness was shown throughout her interview .
Dottie was so excited to represent Colonial Springs at the State pageant last month . Even though she did not place in the top three , she is a queen in all of our eyes . We are so proud of you Dottie ! You represented Colonial Springs very well .
