Eggstravaganza Month All over the world, eggs symbolize the release of the earth from winter and the coming of newlife in the spring. Since March 20 is the first day of spring in the northern hemisphere, Passover begins on March 30, and Easter is just around the corner on April 1, we are hatching an eggciting plan this month. Happy Birthday Ressie On Wednesday, March 14, Ressie Peters will turn 102 years old. She is our second to oldest Centurion at Colonial Springs. We will be celebrating Ressie’s birthday with a special party in her honor. It’s not everyday that you turn 102! Come on down to the dining room at 2 p.m. and let’s sing happy birthday and help Ressie blow out 102 candles. Also, can we send Ressie 102 birthday cards? Let’s see if we can. Send her card to Colonial Springs Healthcare Center, P.O. Box 978, Buffalo, MO 65622, Attention Res- sie Peters, Room 207. St. Patty’s Day Party St. Patrick’s Day is on Saturday, March 17, and since we already have our activities scheduled for that Saturday and we cannot change them, we will celebrate St. Patty’s Day a “wee” early, this is one day early. We will be decked out in our green attire and change our last name to O’…. My name will be Patrice O’Melton. That way we will ALL be Irish, at least for a little while. We will play Irish games, some LUCKY bingo, and finalize the day with some Irish dancing, music and food. Throughout the week, we will be doing some other Irish activities such as taking a trip to Ireland, making an Irish craft, and playing a few Irish games. Watch the calendar for a fun-filled week of going GREEN! ( above) - Johnny and Herman enjoy a laugh at last month’s men’s group. Easter Week (above) - Rita helps Erwin put tape on his Valentine Sun Catcher Wreath. We won’t be celebrating Easter in March, but the entire last week will be dedicated to this special event. Easter this year is on April 1. Easter is a very special time of year for our ladies and gen- tlemen. This is when Jesus sacrificed his life to save ours. On Thursday and Friday we will have special devotionals cele- brating Holy Thursday and Good Friday. Earlier in the week, we will have fun with crafts, bunny and egg creations, games and puzzles.
