Fantastic February (left) - Leah shows off the beautiful necklace she received at last month’s birthday party. February is full of festivities. We have Groundhog Day on Feb. 2, Super Bowl on Feb. 4, Mardi Gras on Feb. 13, Valentine’s Day on Feb. 14, Chinese New Year Feb. 16 and President’s Day on Feb. 20. Oh, and let’s not forget the 2018 Winter Olympics that begin on Feb. 9 and run through the 25. We will be celebrating each of the special days in a special way, so watch your calendar of events to find our what exciting activities we have planned. Valentine Fundraiser It’s time once again for our annual Valentine Balloon and Gift Giving sale. This year, we will have two different sized balloons to sell as well as a variety of gifts to give your loved ones, including personalized stuffed animals, homemade heart shaped cookies on a stick, candy-filled coffee cups, and candy-filled character kids cups, just to name a few. You can come to the activity room to view our selection of puzzles and sample gifts. Prices and pictures of the items will be posted on Facebook, Feb. 1. Early Bird Gets The Worm Week February is Bird-Feeding Month. We will also celebrate Feed the Birds Day (Feb. 3), Nest Box Week (Feb. 14–21), Backyard Bird-Watching Day (Feb. 2), and Great Backyard Bird Count (Feb. 2–19). No won- der we are "spreading our wings" this month. Don’t forget, we have Love Birds Day on Feb. 14. We decided to take the first full week of February and dedicate it to our feathered friends. Some of our activities will include: making a bird feeder full of treats, drawing a Cardinal, making bird’s nest candy, discuss some bird trivia, as well as differentiating the different sounds that birds make.
