Harvest Season
I am sure everyone is almost
finished harvesting the gardens
for the summer. If you would
have any extra tomatoes, peppers, onions or any items that
we could use to can salsa, we
would be glad to take it off
your hands.
Every fall, the residents enjoy
making and canning salsa for
our holiday craft show, which
is held in November.
If you would like to donate
any of these items, please see
Patrice Melton, CSHCC director
of activities.
When Life Hands You Lemons…
...make lemonade! Did you know the month of August is dedicated
to lemons? During the third week of August, we are going to pucker up
and squeeze out a few activities relating to the sour treat. Some of our
activities will include bingo, lemon experiments, lemon cooking, lemon
crafts, spiritual activities of how we can deal with changes in our life
and of course we will have to try different ways of serving lemonade.
Have you ever had a lemon drop mocktail? We will be trying these out
while we play some LEMON Bingo. It is guaranteed to be week full of
fun and adventure.
Friendship Day
Friendship Day is on Sunday,
Aug. 2, but we will enjoy it all
week long! Everyone needs a
friend. Have you ever heard of
the Carol King song, “You’ve
Got a Friend?” It is a beautiful
song about friendship and how
we should always be there for

to play ladder ball.
Many of us have met many
new friends since coming to
Colonial Springs and have
developed life-long relationships
with each other. That is what
this week is dedicated to.
Some of our activities will
include making a friendship
card, creating a decoupage
photo plate, singing friendship
songs, taking a friendship quiz
and conducting a friendship
devotional.
