Vacation Bible School Every year, local churches sponsor vacation Bible schools for children to attend. For the past several years we have had our very own Vacation Bible School program but gear it toward adults. This year’s theme is titled “Concrete and Crane.” We will learn to build their faith on Jesus as we uncover the truth that He, who began a good work will be faithful to carry it on to completion. Day 1: Foundation of Love—Matthew 9:9-13 Day 2: Foundation of Forgiveness—Acts 26:1-29 Day 3: Foundation of Worth—Matthew 26:36-46 Day 4: Foundation of Promise—Matthew 28:1-10,16-20 Day 5: Foundation for Life—Matthew 7:24-29 Just like a building begins with a firm foundation, we will learn to be firm with Jesus throughout our lifetime. Dog Days of Summer… We have survived the very hottest part of the summer so far...so why not celebrate with “The Dog Days Of Summer?” Even though it might be hot outside, let’s keep it cool inside by making some puppy chow, making dog biscuits for our local dog kennel, hosting a dog show and much, much more. You never know, we might dress up like dogs and play “Dog Themed Bingo.” At the end of the week, we will really cool off with some watermelon and sing some dog themed songs. Do you remember, “How Much is that Doggy in the Window?” (above) - Nellie decorates it, and Marjorie enjoys eating it. We made a July 4th cookie flag which they all enjoyed in celebration of our 4th of July holiday. A Week at the Fair Many towns host their own local and state fairs throughout the summer months. Since we are unable to attend these, we thought about hosting our own fair. The Colonial Springs fair will begin on Monday, Aug. 17 through Friday, Aug. 21. Throughout the week, we will have a variety of activities that will include carnival games, bingo, special fair foods, musical entertainment via our own ladies and gentlemen and maybe even a few animals for our ladies and gentlemen to pet. What’s a fair without animals? (above) - Dietary and Environmental Services staff shine at our “Rona” Round Up Employee Appreciation Party.
