Vacation Bible School Back to School
Every year, local churches sponsor vacation Bible schools for
children to attend. This year we decided to have our very own
Vacation Bible School program but gear it toward adults.
This year’s theme is titled “Splash Canyon.” Can you imagine all
the fun we will have with that title. We will be strapping on our life
jackets and getting ready for a rip-roaring river ride with Splash
Canyon: God's Promise on Life's Wild Ride.
We will not only have daily discussions but we will make crafts,
sing songs and have snacks just like real Vacation Bible School
sessions.
If you would like to join us in finding our way with the Lord, we will
conduct our VBS Aug. 13 - 17. Check our calendar for times of each
activity. Well, not only are all of the local
children starting back to school,
but we are too.
We thought it might be fun to
go back to the good ole’ days and
learn the three R’s again, Readin’,
Ritin’ and Rithmatic.
Each day we will take a differ-
ent topic and review what we
know. We are even going to have
Physical Education. That was al-
ways my favorite class. Other top-
ics will include art, Missouri histo-
ry, geography, math, world history,
science and of course recess. We
all need a little time to play, don’t
we?
Our back to school week will be
held Aug. 20 - 24. come on in and
maybe you can learn something
new or maybe you can teach us
something.
Dog Days of Summer…
We have survived the very
hottest part of the summer so
far, so why not celebrate with
“The Dog Days Of Summer?”
Even though it might be hot
outside, let’s keep it cool inside
by making some puppy chow,
making dog biscuits for our lo-
cal dog kennel, hosting a dog
show and much, much more.
You never know, we might
dress up like dogs and play
“Dog Bread Bingo.”
At the end of the week, we
will really cool off with some
watermelon and sing some dog
themed songs. Do you remem-
ber, “How Much is that Doggy
in the Window?”

activities. Bob shows us how to call off
the winning numbers.
