Easter Basket for Sale
Easter is a little early this year as it arrives on April 4 .
We will be selling Easter baskets and personalized bunnies for you to purchase for your loved ones .
Our baskets will consist of a variety of Easter candy , plastic eggs , a big chocolate bunny and some yummy Peeps .
We will be displaying a sample of our basket on Facebook so you can see what it will look like .
We will also be making diabetic or soft baskets up to suit special diets .

Earth and Arbor Day
This month we celebrate two special days that brings awareness to where and how we live .
The first special day is Earth Day , which is celebrated on April 22 . This year marks the 51st anniversary . In Celebration of this special day , we will play a game called Earth Day Jeopardy and conduct an experiment on how everyday pollution enters our waterways .
Arbor Day is our other special day . It is celebrated on Friday , April 30 . On this day we take notice to the trees around us . Do you know the names or kind of tree you have in your back yard ? Are they flowering trees , fruit trees or a shade tree ? We will be giving out clues to find out “ What Tree I Am ?” and we will also hold a discussion on the longevity of trees . To finish up the day , we will tell a few forest funnies . Here is one for you . What did the tree do when the bank closed ? It opened up its own branch ...
100th Birthday
Edna Jewell Brakebill will be celebrating her 100th birthday on Friday , April 16 .
We will be celebrating this special day with some cake , ice cream , punch , balloons , decorations and many well wishes from her fellow residents and Colonial Staff .

And It ’ s One , Two , Three Strikes Your Out
Yep , Thursday , April 1 is the first game of this year ’ s baseball season . We are all so excited to get the season going .
According to ESPN “ Major League Baseball will open the 2021 season on April 1 and hopes to have every team play its first game on the same day for the first time since 1968 .”
Of course , our favorite team is the St . Louis Cardinals . So let ’ s all wear our favorite shirts or jersey ’ s that day and watch the Cardinals take on the Cincinnati Reds at 3:10 p . m .
We will celebrate with some popcorn , peanuts , and hot dogs as we watch opening day baseball .
