INDUSTRY SPOTLIGHT—VINNY THUNN By Terrance Hazly
"It's business, out of loyalty to my friends and artists that I help them. It is a ne-
cessity, anything else is scumbag business!" These are the beliefs of Love &
Loyalty Records upstart Vinny Thunn.
Born & raised in Astoria, N.Y just down the street from Queensbridge, it
was only natural that he made his impact felt in the music world. Vinny
Thunn has been the engine and mastermind behind Love & Loyalty Rec-
ords for 16 years. With a degree from The Institute of Audio Research in
New York City, Vinny nurtured a mass abundance of skills from produc-
ing, engineering, mixing & mastering to shooting videos. Out of all his tal-
ents he prides himself as a true engineer "being able to make things work in
any situation"
With all of Queens at his door, working with the Infamous Mobb and Infamous Records (Mobb Deep) was only right.
He describes working with Infamous Mobb as "magical" and "having good vibes". Being in that setting was what he
needed to create such classic music as Pull the Plug and Hood Laws to name a couple. He has also worked with Blaq
Poet and Metta World Peace (formerly Ron Artest) & his Tru Warrior camp. This "cool experience" has helped shape and
mold him into the musical leader he is.
Alongside with all the music, he takes time to manage his artists to make sure his people are getting the best deals
and treated on the up and up plus he has a lock on 4 studios where he can get his artists recorded anytime it is
needed.
Vinny believes in keeping everything in house where Love & Loyalty can depend on Love & Loyalty for the best prod-
uct. Love & Loyalty spans not only the country but the globe. Countries like France make it an international brand of
business.
“Stay focused and consistent with good communication skills" is the advice he gives to the underground and independent
labels, rappers, producers & musicians. And to ensure that the labels status stays on an international level, he gives
you the unexpected by dropping new videos every week on Sundays and preparing 8 projects for this year 5 of
which are mixtapes.
