The induction ceremony will be held in the Crown Room, so named for its crown chandeliers designed by Wizard of Oz author L. Frank Baum (who wrote his classic in a home a couple of blocks from the Del) and featuring a 30-foot wood-domed ceiling. It channels the glamour of Old Hollywood, and has played host to presidents and celebrities over the years...
Finally, if the foregoing hasn’t convinced you to attend, I’ll add that the Champagne reception following the Friday afternoon education session will be held on the Thomas Lawn, and the reception after the induction ceremony will be held on the beautiful Garden Patio. In anticipation of great weather, the latter will be longer than the traditional 45 minutes, and there will be more food stations and hors d'oeuvres than in prior years. After the reception, Fellows may want to skip dinner, have a light dinner at one of the Del’s restaurants or at another restaurant in Coronado, or venture into San Diego, which offers many wonderful dining options.
In sum, the Del will be a great location and we hope to see you there.

One of the things that makes the College the College is the array of educational programs it offers around the country. They include seminars, panel discussions, and moot court and negotiation competitions for law students. The programs are organized by Circuit educational committees, each headed by a Chair, and all under the umbrella of the College Educational Program Committee chaired by Rick Mason. Each involves the work of many Fellows, including those who serve on the panels, coach teams of law students and serve as judges at the competitions. Within the last year, College leadership developed a protocol for organizing such Circuit events and programs, and for College funding of them. Click here to download. I encourage you to review the protocol, particularly if you are thinking about creating a program in your Circuit.
