Heat pump systems are nothing new to OTTC
The requirement was to build a heat pump system that was able to do pool heating , underfloor heating , airconditioning and humidity control .
As Peter ( Dobelin ) was already full-time lecturing at OTTC , he included all of his students in this project . The project had to be designed to fit in a very small plant room at the end of the pool .

So not as to lose any energy , the ducting was laid around the pool – this includes a small space for servicing lights ducts . Under the floor tiles around the pool , the underfloor heating pipes were installed .
The outlets of the air-conditioning were installed to ensure that no moisture was collected on the windows . The return air went out of the end of the pool and was re-used for heat recovery . The whole
project was built by students . The OTTC Diploma test included the design and calculations .
Every student had to do the full project for the test . CLA
