“ Growing a business is of course always on the table and a task that must be achieved . Exporting of our goods is definitely a focus area as we strive to be recognised as experts in this field . This is also a means to meet that company growth because in order to grow as a manufacturer , your business cannot purely focus on producing for the local markets anymore . This ties into our approach of upskilling staff – with our main objective being exports we have to ensure we have well trained employees as well as the modernisation of our capital equipment ,” Moya adds .
Considering the international market opportunities , Acrow sees that there is definitely room for their product ranges at that level – having supplied a number of projects in 2020 , even with the consideration in the global declines the Covid pandemic produced – crediting this to their ability to remain highly competitive .
“ Although we have completed a lot of exports into Africa , we don ' t see that as exporting from our perspective . As a manufacturer we are now looking more towards supplying to the European , American and in the Middle Eastern markets ,” continues Moya .
The company manufactures and supplies a variety of solutions to meet their clients ’ needs .
EQUIPMENT AND SYSTEM UPGRADES KEEP A MANUFACTURER RELEVANT At the end of 2020 , Acrow commissioned their Coil Cut to Length line and their Slitting line as part of their ongoing automation implementation . They now also complete all of their own in-house cutting of material for better traceability of products .
Why this has become important for the business according to Moya is , “ When you buy material and you send it to a merchant to cut it for you , you ' re never sure of what it is you ' re getting back . Imagine you buy a big steel coil that weighs 20 tons , and then you get it cut into flat sheet , you can ’ t know

for sure if the coil is the same as what the external supplier started with . We have upgraded our equipment lines so we can trace every component from the minute it ’ s cut throughout the different stages of manufacturing , and we can further monitor progress with our in-house scanning system that we have implemented , allowing us full traceability , and with that exceptional quality control ”.
