It makes sense to buy used equipment if the price is significantly reduced, providing there is the necessary after-sales support.
“ After an indifferent start to the year for operators, the ability to spend large quantities on new machines is often not an option, therefore the used equipment option is the safest route. The time for the machine to payback its cost is a lot shorter and the machines don’ t have the high values of machine depreciation that new machines incur.”
According to Clarke, large quantities of used equipment are suitable for companies expanding or‘ dipping their toe’ in a new area.“ We have received many orders from operators venturing into redemption for the first time,” he told B2B.“ When all the other arcades in the area are doing redemption, it is essential that you keep up and offer the public the best experience.
“ Used equipment is a good way of trying a concept before taking the plunge and buying high value new equipment as you can see whether it will bring benefits to the arcade. With such a wide range of redemption equipment, JNC can fulfil the requirements of every arcade, whether it is starting from scratch or replacing machines. Part exchanges are also taken.
“ Regarding fruit machines, the introduction of MGD has allowed operators to put in more machines without having the additional cost of licences. Used fruit machines are a great way to increase that revenue without having to spend huge amounts on the latest machines.”
