Area 51, Fake or Real? Nolan Benson Area 51, the most secretive military base in the country, has a dreadful reputation for housing aliens and alien technology. This base currently sits on Groom Lake, a dried up lake bed in the vast desert of Nevada. This is away from any type of civilization, with miles of barren desert surrounding the base on all sides. From the outside looking in, this base appears to be a large complex area consisting of many hangers, storage buildings, runways, and other military facilities. This is exactly what the base is! Area 51 serves as a testing ground for technology, a storage unit for standard military weapons, and a research facility studying the means of efficient warfare. Most of these buildings are isolated from others because they serve different purposes or house a separate category of technology. The purposes of these buildings range from experimenting firearms and new weaponry, designing efficient aircraft, and even proposing military tactics and strategies. On any given day, one can witness trucks driving across the base delivering testing supplies and materials to different sections of the camp. The base has been in operation since World War Two. The main reason for this is because the world war caused a military boom for America. The exact date is not certain because Area 51 has been kept top secret for so long. Maybe the base has been there longer than we thought. It is certain that aliens are not kept in Area 51; it is kept top secret for understandable reasons.
