Story Behind the Story Do you have a hidden trove of information that could become a novel? By M. C. V. Egan

In the course of researching The Bridge of Deaths the traditional archival resources: newspapers, archives, books and interviews were combined with metaphysical resources: psychics, healers and hypnosis to visit past lives. As a result of that research I collected quite a treasure-trove of data on various subjects and it is fortunately carefully documented and saved. Some of the data could be useful for short stories, articles, and perhaps even short plays. There is however much that can be put to great use to write full size novels. Mark Twain so wisely stated“ Write what you know”. So dig into your old research as well as into your past to realize what you know. I am presently working on a series putting some of this information to good use. With a different viewpoint on the metaphysical than I did in the past, and focusing on more negative angles. I did the same with my historical research by concentrating on controversial or disputable history. In any field there are the competent and the incompetent as well as the ethical and unethical. In every field no-one is right all the time. This was clear in the historical research when encountering the likes of Holocaust denier David Irving( http:// en. wikipedia. org / wiki / David _ Irving), who is very famous for proving the Hitler Diaries were absolute forgeries. However in his book Churchill’ s War; in a great twist of irony, David Irving documents British Member or Parliament Anthony Crossley as an evil Zionist, wrong! Easy research on the subject shows that the very MP was the‘ voice for the Arab cause’ in regards to the Palestinian Territories as documented by the New York Times, The Times( London) and the very minutes of the British Parliament( Hansard). This aside from the obvious disregard for well documented tangible evidence that disproves any Holocaust denier. On the metaphysical side the choice was made because inasmuch as I met and interacted with some wonderful and intriguing individuals, in that realm; psychics and healers alike. There was no want for those I wish I had not encountered. My approach was aided by a variety of friends who for their own personal reasons would visit psychics and healers and would confidentially convey all details of their experiences. I was seeking the past, but most of my friends were seeking the future. Once I was absolutely certain someone was trustworthy appointments were set to work with the two watches from the 1939 plane crash, these were with a handful of people gifted in psychometry, all of whom are credited on The Bridge of Deaths. Amongst the undesirable people I met in the psychic / healer realm some were outright charlatans and others were more subtle at manipulating people and they were frankly very good at it,
