Hello mr. davis,
First off I want to say congratulation to paying your debt to society.
Well D, like they say a person is only as crazy as you allowed them to be. First, If you and this guy were in business for a while then I pray you have access to the clientele that you both built together. You should start there first to protect the lucrative business model. Second, violence is never the way to go. Besides it would not be worth it to lose your freedom again and you worked so hard to obtain it. The pen is always more deadly than the sword. There are several options you have Mr. Davis. If the truck is in your name (meaning you have rights to the title), you have to hire a professional "repo man" that is trained with this kind of repossession strategy. If that does not work you can consult with an attorney to be instructed on how to file a small claims court complaint on you former business partner. This way he will be summoned to court to answer to the complaint. When the judge rules in your favor you can demand immediate return of your property. If the truck has been damaged in any way, you can request the judge grants you additional money to cover repairs of replacement of such vehicle. Be very careful with small claims court however. I think the maximum you can claim is usually between $5,000.00 to $7500.00 according to what state you are in. If my knowledge serves me correctly your judgment would be $5000.00.
I hope this helps and Good Luck.
