Student feedback :
“( The seminar ) allowed us to hear valuable advice , tips and stories based on experience from individuals who were in our position not too long ago , as student teachers . I really walked away with a better grasp of what my mindset should be at this point in the semester . It also reminded me of all the things I should be taking advantage of while still in the wonderful care and supervision of the University of Kentucky Elementary Education program . Most importantly I got a true sense that we are on the right track for success by being a part of this elementary education program , and that is a huge sense of comfort ! I definitely left motivated and inspired .”

“ After hearing these teachers give their advice , I am definitely more confident that I will be able to handle what lies ahead . I think we are all very passionate about our future as educators , and we tend to get bogged down with the weight of our duties . But these first- and second-year teachers gave us some excellent advice about balancing our lives and relieving some of the stress that is inevitable within our field .”
— Angel Balew , student
“ The highlight of the seminar to me was being told to just be yourself during an interview , not someone you ’ re not . This is the best piece of advice I found , because it ’ s easy to try to be someone you ’ re not in order to make that fantastic first impression that you hope will make a principal fall in love with you , when in reality they want to know the real you .”
