My name is Jay Gellman from Brooklyn, NY. I have been with the Coast Guard Auxiliary for over 15 years and have been involved with many different programs including the AuxFS Program. By trade I work in the IT field but have been involved with cooking since I was a kid.
Both my parents were great cooks and I have learned a lot from both of them growing up. I have also taken a few courses at I.C.E and Sur la table cooking schools. As a teenager I worked as a short order cook after school and on weekends and did that until I graduated high school where I moved on to a job working on Satellite systems which began my carrier in electronics and later on IT.
