I have been a Healthcare Food Service Director for the last 25 years, as well as a Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) and a ServSafe Certified Manager. As a classically trained Chef, graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, I have had the pleasure of being a Chef in free-standing restaurants before transitioning to Healthcare Foodservice.
I have been serving in Coast Guard Auxiliary for over 6 years and with the Food Service Program for over 3 years. It is an incredible pleasure to bring the Auxiliary Food Service Program to Sector NY, Station NY, and especially aboard Cutters.
My passion for food drew me away from my first career in computer programming. I knew I had a hunger for food and the innate creativity vested this industry. I love to create and teach. Passing our knowledge to anyone willing to learn, is one of our primary responsibilities. Coming from a Greek background, I value my heritage and honor it's roots. Mediterranean Cuisine is a diverse, ecletic gastronomy impacted from different European, Middle Eastern and Asian influence. The beauty of food is there and should be no limits to it's creativity.
