The vast majority of ladies who are part of this club had never played cricket before . The group was initiated by Joe Fish , a Club Development Officer at Trent Bridge , who came to our club in 2019 to run a taster session and sparked an interest with those who attended . Hayley had played cricket at junior level but that was over ten years before . She actively encouraged all those that had attended to form a team and entered us into a couple of festivals in the first year which all those who took part in thoroughly enjoyed . We then entered an indoor winter league where we initially lost all of our matches . Hayley then gained her Level 1 coaching certificate which made a massive difference in her ability to coach us and we grew from strength to strength . We have now played in indoor and outdoor matches and I would say we win more than we lose but , more than that , we have lots of fun and keep fit at the same time . Although Eastwood is situated in a deprived area and our team members are from many different backgrounds with ages ranging from 15-70 , Hayley makes it all inclusive . She has exceptional organisational skills and her training sessions are both structured and fun . The involvement of the ladies within the cricket club has created a sense of community , given our club a new lease of life and attracted more families and their children to our All Stars and Dynamos programme . Ladies ' training usually attracts between 12-20 participants and we train all year round . She is an inspiration to all .

Katie is 17 . She has helped out at All Stars for the last three years , giving up all her Friday nights in the summer to help . She is has a real passion for helping the children , she encourages them , enthuses them and is so caring to each and every one of them . The lead coach for All Stars has commented many times at how good she is in the role of Activator as she has an enthusiasm which is beyond compare . She is a great role model for the girls , who all look up to her and see her not just as a coach but also a mentor for cricket and their life in general .
