His first year after being redshirted, he only played in a few games on special teams. Then, in early 2013 during the spring, he left the team. He would later rejoin the team in time for camp in the fall. When he came back, he felt like he had something to prove. “I always feel like I have something to prove. Even when I do well, I still feel like I have something to prove. I am never the type of person that gets complacent because there is always something to do better. Even when I do something good, I always feel like there’s something that I could do better. I always play with a chip on my shoulder since I was young because I always feel like I was over- looked. Although he did not play in the first three games of the season, he would go on to have a breakout year. Using his size and speed, Anderson became a primary weapon in the Temple offense. He finished the season with 44 catches for 791 yards and nine touch- downs, three of which came in the last game against Memphis. With his strong 2013 finish, it looked as if Anderson was headed to new heights. How- ever, some news blindsided him and the rest of the football team. Anderson was ruled academically ineligible. “It was crazy. I did not see it coming. I feel like I had not hit my peak. I was starting to reach the top in what I was doing. I started to hit where I wanted to be. Then I just hit rock bottom so quick. It
