Co-op community
Proud to be...
It’s been a few months now since we joined Funeralcare and
Legal Services, and we’ve already seen some great examples
of colleagues coming together to find new and improved
ways of working, making us a better Co-op for our clients.
W
e’ve also celebrated
our first Membership
payout – a fantastic
£9 million! Great things
happen when we
work together – and we’ve now launched
our second round of local causes as part
of our commitment to making a difference
in our local communities.
We’re also getting ourselves ready for the
future by investing in technology, including
the new Digital Service, Wi-Fi installation
and a new online HR system. These exciting
advances for our business will give you more
time to spend with clients, make your everyday
tasks easier and give you the time you need
to build relationships in your communities.
These technology changes will also help us make
sure we’re leaders in our industry, always doing
the right thing for our clients and our members.
We’d love to hear your stories about
how you’re learning from each other and
#BeingCoop in your communities – so get
in touch using the link below! We hope you
enjoy reading this issue.

Our Voice / June 2017
“I’ve been working at Co-op since March and
I’m really enjoying my time here so far – it’s a
privilege to be part of the Co-op family.
“I’ve particularly liked reading about
people’s experiences and the work we’re
doing in the community. There are great
articles on pages 11 and 13 about Member
Pioneers and the £6 million raised to tackle
loneliness with the British Red Cross.
You can also read about a kickboxing
Funeral Arranger and other community
stories on page 15.
“I enjoyed reading about the
Leeds and Bradford trial on
pages 4 and 5. It’s good to see positive feedback
about our advice, as well as hearing from the
trial team. I find it’s really helpful knowing what
other areas of the business do and how we
can work together to help customers more.
“Finally – in a shameless plug! – I was asked
to be guest editor for this issue because I’ve
signed up to a 30-mile mountain race to
fundraise for Mind and raise awareness of
mental health. It’s a personal quest – so take
a look on page 15.
“Enjoy the start of summer!”
David Wood, Probate Advisor, Sheffield
