NGOs CNRJ

President Frederic Fappani

The 26 February 2013 i have demanded an International Independent Investigation on war crimes, crimes against humanity and human rights violations during and after the May 2009 Mullaivaikkal War in Sri Lanka.

1) A humanist lobbying of NGOs CNRJ from 2009 to 2013: Current 2009-2010, CNRJ was seized by the Tamil exile government on the issue of genocide. Members CNRJ then worked on UN reports and have suggested their analyses.

It was clear that the Tamil people, mostly children and youth, were victims of atrocities.

Action information and lobbying has then decided by the “ONG CNRJ”". From 2010 to 2012, we met directly several young Tamil carriers "Trauma" from this period of ‘probable genocide’ Late February to mid-March 2013, we alerted many governments:

Ministers, Embassies and ministerial advisers and we requested an «independent investigation Commission under the auspices of the International Community in Sri Lanka. In addition we requested support for all proposed in this regard during the session of the HRC endorsements.

Thus we prepared exchanges and support for a possible resolution in the direction of peace, looking for some justice, and the establishment of a commission of inquiry.

Finally March 22, 2013, at its 22nd session the board of Human Rights (UN Geneva) adopted a resolution 25 to 13 against and 8 abstentions.

2) The inaction and refusal to listen to the Sri Lankan government from 2011 to 2013:

Due to Sri Lanka’s failure to implement their own Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission, including the two resolutions passed by the UNHR Council in March 2012 and in 2013, it is anticipated that a third resolution for an International Independent Investigation is expected at the UNHRC 25th Session in Geneva March 2014.
