W ellness on the go : Healthy habits for life on the road Attending meetings and events can be exciting and energising , but , at the same time , it also comes with its own set of challenges , making it crucial to prioritise your wellbeing . Finding ways to elevate wellness not only benefits you but also helps you bring your best self to those around you .

Here are three practical tips for those just starting out that will help build healthy habits and elevate your wellbeing while on the road .

Take the long way Meetings and events often have jam-packed schedules throughout the morning , afternoon and evenings , making that 7am early morning workout tough to attend . If a typical workout time doesn ’ t fit into your day , you can compensate by increasing your steps . Instead of taking the shuttle or Uber , take the 15-minute walk from the convention centre to your hotel . Choose the stairs over the elevator , or select a longer path within the venue to get where you ’ re going . You ’ ll be surprised how quickly those extra steps add up , allowing you to build exercise into your day .
Remember that consistency beats intensity . Even when there isn ’ t much time during the day , finding small ways to stay active and increase your steps is essential for maintaining your exercise routine .
Snack healthy Eating healthy while travelling can be
challenging with so many tempting options around . Fortunately , the availability of healthier choices has significantly improved . Convention centres and restaurants now offer a wider selection of nutritious options . Personally , I find that I eat more often when I ’ m on the road , so I make a point to have healthy snacks on hand to satisfy cravings throughout the day . Another tip is to pack your own snacks for the airport . I like to bring grapes or an apple in a ziplock bag , which gives me a healthier option for the plane . And , yes you can get through security with food if packaged right !
