CMS Staffing Compliance with Facility Assessments
• You will be required to develop a staffing plan to maximize recruitment and retention of staff .
The additional Facility Assessment requirements took effect on August 8th .
The facility assessment should identify the number of staff , types of staff , and the required competencies and skill sets that staff require to care for the resident population . Thus , the facility assessment would inform the staffing plan . The facility assessment must also be used to inform contingency staffing planning .
Quality Manager Facility Assessment workflow The updated Facility Assessment regulation will include that you must use evidence-based methods such as MDS data and data from QAPI activities , to inform care planning decisions . The data must include but is not limited to types of diseases , conditions , physical and behavioral health issues , cognitive disabilities , overall acuity , and other pertinent facts that are present within your population .
