April 26 , I received the kind of 4:30 am call no one wants to receive . My uncle and aunt had been on the same floor in a Florida hospital until my aunt transferred to a rehab facility just days before . Uncle Bobby was to have followed her ; instead , the doctor told me my uncle had unexpectedly died .
In addition to overwhelming grief , I was attempting to handle arrangements and all their affairs from New Jersey . In forwarded mail , I discovered legal papers that needed to be signed and notarized . The rehab facility was located more than an hour north of my aunt ' s home area . What to do , and who could I trust with such sensitive documents ? I thank God for the
HeartBeat stories of CMA brothers and sisters helping each other in time of need .
My initial plea for a notary on April 26 went to Disciple Riders
(# 402 ) in Ocala through our CMA website . After that , it made the rounds from chapter to chapter . " Cobra " sent it to " Mike ," Mike sent it to " Bifer ," Bifer sent it to " Fred " ( Iron Servants ), and " Reyes & Frieda ." Finally , I sent a follow-up email on May 4 .
On May 7 , I received a call from Pastor Marple Lewis . Over the next few calls , I learned the chapter president of River Riders had learned of my need for a notary . She knew Pastor Lewis ' s assistant was a notary . Within days , notary Elaine received the documents to be signed , made arrangements at the rehab facility , obtained the necessary signatures , and notarized the documents . River Riders ’ chapter president , Mickie O ' Donnell , acted as witness . Elaine gave my aunt Our Daily Bread , and Mickie left CMA tracts . Elaine overnighted the documents to me , and I sent them off to the lawyer that same day .
“ For God made Christ , who never sinned , to be the offering for our sin , so that we could be made right with God through Christ ” ( 2 Corinthians 5:21 , NLT ).
Elaine , Pastor Lewis ( also CMA ), and Bifer ( whom I discovered is an Area Rep ), all followed up with me . Later , Mickie and I had a wonderful exchange . I am deeply indebted to all those who worked together to make this happen during such a trying time . I knew I could count on the Body of Christ and CMA specifically . Would you please keep my aunt in prayer ? It has been especially hard on her , and we are nowhere near the end of this yet . CMA
through some downpours , and my feet have been completely dry . I ' m not alone with these thoughts either , as some of our state leaders have them and feel the same , while some are more sensitive and took a while to get used to them , others loved them out of the box . All have been dry . I have walked through streams to get that just right picture spot and never have any water get into the boot . Reason will tell you if water goes
over the top , then the boot does an excellent job of holding it in .
The last point on comfort is temperature . Are the boots hot ? This depends on a lot of things , such as the bike you ride . If the bike puts a lot of heat on your feet , then these boots will be hot . My Super Tenere does put some heat on my feet , and in hot , humid climates , my feet sweat in the boots , but then I ' m sweating all over . In humid temps between 30-
80 degrees , my feet are comfortable . In dry climates , I haven ' t noticed any heat issues . At the same time , they are not any hotter than other protective boots that are not waterproof . As I write this article , I am preparing to take a tour to Kansas City , Colorado , across to South Dakota , then back to Arkansas , and these will be my boot of choice . CMA
