the best riders I have ever seen was a lady about 5 ' 2 " tall and 110 pounds . She was at a bike competition riding a 900 pound fully dressed Harley . She beat most men in the timed competition and won the slow race over several current and retired police motor officers . She told me she had made several adjustments to the bike to fit her size and that she practiced her skills several hours each week .
A slight change can make a huge difference in control and comfort . If you make changes to your bike , practice with those changes . Practice swerves , quick stops , corners , weaves , and tightly limited space maneuvers until you are comfortable with the changes . Before you make any changes to your bike , talk to the experts in the parts department at your local dealership . They can tell you what the change will do to the bike for comfort and handling . They will also tell you if a part fits your bike . They can tell you if changing anything on your bike will affect the bike ' s warranty . I could have saved a lot of time , money , and uncomfortable rides in the past if I had checked with the parts department before I made changes to my bikes . Having a comfortable bike that fits you makes riding more pleasurable and much safer . CMA
