Hwy 14 has some great switchback sweepers with several elevation changes . You β ll travel through forests , farmland , and rural areas . Hwy 14 is full of sweeping curves on rolling hills , few side roads , and very light traffic . Many of the curves you think will never end . If you like that sort of thing , there are plenty of twisty turns .
Before you know it , you β re approaching Protem , Missouri . All good things must come to an end , and Hwy 14 / AR 125 ends at Bull Shoals Lake . Not to worry ; the Arkansas Highway Department has you covered with a free ferry ride across Bull Shoals Lake .
Peel Ferry is the last public ferry run by the Arkansas State Department of Highway and Transportation . It makes the round trip across Bull Shoals Lake every
40 minutes , so you don β t have to wait long . Bull Shoals Lake is one of four lakes in Northwest Arkansas . Bull Shoals Dam was completed by the U . S . Army Corps of Engineers in 1951 .
More often than not , the ferry ride is a great ministry opportunity , with motorcyclists waiting for and riding on the ferry . Once on board , it β s a quick 20-minute ride across the lake . We continue on Hwy 125 South to Arkansas 14 West through Lead Hill and Omaha , Arkansas to Hwy 65 . You can head North to Branson , Missouri , or South to Harrison , Arkansas , off Hwy 65 . CMA
