THIS
story is about a changed life because the Father had a plan . The summer of 2021 has been a time of regrouping after a year of lockdowns and health threats . Many events were canceled or celebrated in nontraditional ways in 2020 . One such event was Laconia Bike Week in New Hampshire . The summer of 2021 has been closer to normal , and people were coming out in droves to enjoy the freedom of the road and the fun of bike week . As a member of CMA for many years , I was looking forward to talking , praying , and sharing the Gospel with bikers . This year , as in years before , I asked the LORD to send someone special , which is why I wrote this story .
It was Tuesday , the second day of ministry , at a bustling gas station and rest stop in New Hampshire . My wife , Wendy , and I had sat up at our CMA pop-up with CMA brother and friend , Stan . We prayed for souls to be saved , and the LORD led me to a very reluctant and somewhat angry individual I could befriend . He would not accept anything from me , but a young man named Andee came over to where we were during our conversation . He appeared to be high ; he had a black eye and said he would get another on the other side to match . At this point , Mister Angry biker says , " You wouldn ' t talk to someone like that , would you ?" Led by the Holy Spirit , I answered , " God cares about him too ." At that point , he called me a do-gooder , we shook hands , and he left .
Fifteen minutes later , that young man and his stepdad , Tom , walked over to our pop-up and asked what we were all about . Within minutes , Andee was reading from my Bible and prayed a sinner ' s prayer . His whole countenance changed . I asked him if he genuinely believed in the saving power of Jesus , and he , without question , agreed . I took down his phone number , and a week later , we talked on the phone . He was a changed person . Over a short time , we shared devotions and Bible verses , and he still had such a hunger for more . In the meantime , I asked him if he would agree to meet
someone closer to where he lived that could disciple him . He agreed . I contacted Nancy , a CMA prayer warrior that lived in Andee ' s town , and asked if she knew of someone in the area that could disciple Andee since I live 4 hours away . She gave me a name , Henry , who does street ministry for the homeless and drug addicts .
What a perfect fit ; Henry and Andee hit it off and were to meet for supper the next day . Henry had just received a new Bible in the mail that he had ordered before he knew Andee . Henry was going to give the Bible to Andee , but upon arriving to pick Andee up , he found out Andee had lost his battle against his addiction . Andee had passed away in the night just three weeks to the day from his salvation . I know where he is , and I praise God because I know that one day I ' ll see Andee again .
I am still overwhelmed by the sovereign power of God and how He writes the whole story of our lives from beginning to end . I do not know who Andee was before he became a child of God . I do not know the weight he carried due to addiction , but one thing I know , GOD had a plan for him . He made an impression on Henry , Nancy , Stan , my wife , and I . His stepdad , Tom , has recommitted his life to Christ because of all this and will be serving with his newfound friend , Henry , doing street ministry .
