Evangelist article
By JAY Wilber
you know why you are part
of CMA and not another
ministry? Sometimes I’m not sure
we ask or even know why. I was
reading in Matthew a few days ago
and noticed something I had not
really thought about before. It was
the words Jesus used when He
called Peter and Andrew to follow
Him.
D O
Matthew 4:18-20 (NLT)
The First Disciples
“One day as Jesus was walking
along the shore of the Sea of
Galilee, he saw two brothers—
Simon, also called Peter, and
Andrew—throwing a net into the
water, for they fished for a living.
Jesus called out to them, ‘Come,
follow me, and I will show you
how to fish for people!’ And they
left their nets at once and fol-
lowed him.”
Jesus called Peter and Andrew to
follow Him so they would be part of
His ministry. We have read this
many times and quoted it, but do
we understand what Jesus really
said? Jesus told Peter and Andrew “I
will give you a ministry that you
already understand and love, to be
fishers of people.”
Look at your calling to CMA;
Jesus has called you to this ministry
and given you the ability to use
something you love called motorcy-
cling. In a way, Jesus says we will be
motorcyclists for people.
In February 2004, Jesus laid on
my heart to purchase a motorcycle.
I had no idea why. I had not ridden a
motorcycle for thirty years, but the
call was so strong that I said yes. It
wasn’t until almost a year later, in
December 2004 that I knew why.
Jesus knew I would use the motor-
cycle to serve Him. You see, Jesus
had a plan and calling on my life
well before I even owned the bike.
He was going to use something He
knew I loved for His glory.
CMA’s theme for 2020 is
“Mission True” which is focused on
these scriptures, Mark 16:15-18
(NLT):
“And then he told them, ‘Go into
all the world and preach the Good
News to everyone. Anyone who
believes and is baptized will be
saved. But anyone who refuses to
believe will be condemned. These
miraculous signs will accompany
those who believe: They will cast
out demons in my name, and they
will speak in new languages. They
will be able to handle snakes with
safety, and if they drink anything
poisonous, it won’t hurt them.
They will be able to place their
hands on the sick, and they will be
healed.’”
You see, Jesus has called each of us
to use our talents and abilities to
“GO” and share the Good News. In
verses 17-18, Jesus tells us what we
will be able to do. If you look at our
ministry, Jesus has given us the
ability to minister to everyday bikers
along with giving us protection and
authority to minister to the fulltime
bikers at rallies and events. Jesus’
authority protects us everywhere
we minister.
This is exciting! Jesus has given
us a great gift, so let’s remember
this year more than ever, Jesus
didn’t just call us to CMA to pray
and fellowship with each other,
Jesus also called us to evangelize
and disciple the lost bikers.
What exciting times we are in.
People are hearing the Gospel all
over the world at a faster pace than
ever before. You see this when you
read the findings of the quarterly
reports. A CMA member is touching
someone in the name of Jesus every
44 seconds, 24 hours a day, 7 days
a week, 365 days a year. So, as you
ride this year, think about your call-
ing and why Jesus chose you.
Remember to be true to the mission
Jesus has given you. Don’t give up
or allow the enemy to discourage
you. Jesus is with you every mile
you ride and in everything you do
for Him.
So, what is your calling? Through
the power and calling of Jesus, and
through the ministry of CMA, we
are to go and work together in
changing the world, one heart at a
time. CMA
