SOUTHEAST Texas
has the pleasure of serving at the MotoGP races just south of Austin , Texas , every year . Caden Lockhart said , “ MotoGP is the highest class of motorcycle racing held on track circuits .” This is an international sport bike race with a 68-year history . These handcrafted motorcycles are 240 - 300 horsepower , 348 lbs , 1000 cc with top speeds of 211 mph . Each bike has a price tag from one to four million dollars , which is probably more than the price of the helicopters that chase them around the track . MotoGP is the only motorcycle race of this caliber that can be visited in the United States . France , Spain , Japan , Italy , South Africa , Australia , and Portugal are just some of the countries represented . If you can ' t drag your shoulder on the ground around every turn , buy a ticket and sit in the stands .
Southeast Texas CMA volunteers run the gear check tents to earn the right to operate a ministry tent in the vendor area . Bikers come in from all parts of the USA , Canada , Mexico , and South America . We also have the opportunity to build relationships with their international fan base from across the big pond .
For the last couple of years , we , as a ministry team , have been applying our Seasons of Refreshing focus theme to our efforts . In 2023 , we blessed just under 400 motorcycles . It was our first time to bless bikes at this event . Our 2023 SOR Accelerate theme carried over into 2024 as we added the Overflowing Confident Hope theme . The Holy Spirit did not disappoint with 800 bike blessings this year .
I also don ' t want to neglect the efforts of our inside ministry team . They have been busy year after year , shining light while addressing divine appointments . One fan approached the ministry tent this year and said she did not know why she was drawn to the CMA booth . After a brief conversation , it was established that she had just lost her husband to a motorcycle accident , and they , as a couple , had always attended this race . This is one of many ways we could offer Overflowing Confident Hope to someone in need .
The 2024 race in the USA may be over , but 2025 is just around the bend . The roar of the crowds , the smell of racing fuel , many thousands of motorcycles pouring into the parking lots , and the best part , serving the King of Kings and Lord of Lords .
