KLIM TORRENT GORE-TEX PANTS three years of
AFTER serving as National Evangelists and riding in about all types of weather ( we even think we were in a tornado once ), we struggled to find the right comfortable riding gear . For this article , I want to share some rain overpants that we think are great . We wear regular Gore-Tex pants when we know we will be in the rain all day from start to finish , but we needed something to pack in our saddle bags for trips where we get caught in the rain and need to put something on in a hurry . I have lost count of how many “ cheap ” sets of raingear we have purchased over the years . On one trip , I went through three pairs of rain pants in an all-day rain just to be soaked to the core when we arrived . That is when I decided to spend some money and invest in some good quality gear . I had two requirements for these pants : 1 ) Gore-Tex and 2 ) full-length side zippers . these over pants on the Klim website ( KLIM . com ). The Klim Torrent Over Pant met my expectations . For the first time , I have a rain pant that I can put on easily on the side of the road , and after riding in the rain all day , my rear end is not wet .
The Gore-Tex material is breathable , so you don ’ t get wet from your sweat while wearing it . The full-length zipper is double-headed , which allows you to have them zipped down to your boots and unzip the top to vent if wearing when it ’ s not raining . Another feature that I like is that they pack tightly for your saddle bags . Although the price tag on these pants is a little high at $ 379.99 , I believe it is well worth it . Just think about all the “ less expensive ” gear you have purchased over the years and had to replace it for various reasons . These pants come with a lifetime warranty and are made of high-quality material . They can be purchased on the Klim website , or a simple web search will reveal other purchasing options .
Finally , it is good to note that

they are sized with an understanding that they are over pants . The waist size is true to fit , knowing you will have jeans or other pants under . The legs are roomy , allowing for pants with armor and layers for cold underneath . I wear 34x30 jeans , so I ordered that size . They don ’ t come with 30 lengths and are a few inches longer , but there are snaps to close around your boot to accommodate that . Also , I have not had any issues with them flapping in the wind . These will do the trick if you are looking for a quality set of rain pants for your saddle bags .
