the birth of CMA in 1975 , the heartbeat of the ministry has been changing the world , one heart at a time , primarily through ministry to the motorcycling world . By 1980 , word of what was taking place in the United States reached South Africa , and so began the story of expanding outreach to motorcyclists around the world . Originally , this loosely gathered collection of nations bearing the CMA name and back patch was called the International Coalition . All that was required to join was a person contacting the CMA National / International Headquarters and requesting entry into the ministry . In the early 2000s , as word spread , it quickly became evident that it was time to establish international standards to ensure the integrity of the ministry remained the same worldwide .

In 2002 , under the leadership of John Ogden Sr , with 16 nations bearing the name of CMA , the first leadership meeting was held in South Africa . It was at this point that the International Coalition changed to CMA International . As the years progressed , a membership process and communication structure were established , helping our CMA International team become a worldwide family , interacting with and supporting each other . Today , CMA is active in 34 nations , and we are excited to share their stories each month in celebration of 50 years of ministry and how God birthed CMA in their nation , sustained it , and brought

them to where they are today .

This month ’ s ministry spotlight is CMA Philippines . This nation was part of the original International Coalition , having joined the family in 2002 . In 2019 , James Ledesma stepped in as the CMA International Contact for CMA Philippines and set the goal of bringing this nation to the point where they could be chartered as an official CMA nation . He and the team worked diligently toward this goal and in October 2021 , CMA Philippines received their charter .

James states , “ Bringing CMA to the Philippines opened up hearts and minds of motorcyclists in a different kind of Christian ministry . CMA is involved in winning and feeding the soul , while others are focused on physical feeding ( they have feeding programs for the community and motorcycle riders ). It ’ s like the motorcycling community provides happiness , while sharing the Gospel through CMA can provide peace and joy in the Lord .” For him , joining CMA meant using riding as a “ ministry tool , partnering to explore the awesome power of our Lord , Jesus Christ , to transform meekness to boldness while sharing God ’ s Word , and having firsthand experiences in changing the world , one heart at a time .” CMA Philippines loves the vision that is unique to CMA in that we have a purpose “ in reaching and discipling people in the motorcycling community .” CMA
