188 to Hwy 28 ( yes , this part of Moonshiner 28 ), and take a right onto Hwy 28 . In about 4.5 miles , you will take a slight right onto SC-11 .
This stretch of SC-11 is a pretty relaxing and leisurely ride , with nice views and not a lot of heavyduty curves , but they are coming . At 32 miles , you can stop for a break or sightseeing at Table Rock Park ( watch for signs ) and do some hiking or hang around enjoying the fantastic views . Many hiking trails in the state park carry you past streams and waterfalls to the top of Table Rock and Pinnacle mountains . A Park Pass is required to park and use the trails .
Hop back on SC-11 for 5.2 miles and turn slightly left onto Caesar ' s Head Hwy ( Hwy 8 ). After 1.3 miles , you will take a slight left onto Geer Hwy ( Hwy 276 ). Okay , this is where the road changes into a curvy , twisty road for the next 14
miles . It is excellent not only for riding motorcycles but also for the tree-lined road and daylight speckled mountain views . At 9.2 miles , turn right onto YMCA Camp Hwy ( Hwy 1559 ). At 4.4 miles , you can stop for another hiking trail at Rainbow Falls ; there are beautiful falls and scenic vistas at this stop . If you don ' t care to stop , continue on another mile to Fred W Symmes Chapel ( aka Pretty Place ). You can ' t miss this as the road dead-ends at the Chapel .
The Chapel is located right on the top edge of the mountain and is well known for its incredible views . The Chapel site is also known as " Pretty Place ." The Chapel is one of the buildings that make up YMCA Camp Greenville . Check the calendar to make sure the Chapel is open to the public to ensure you can see it . You can find more info at www . campgreenville . org .
Once your visit is over , you can head back out and enjoy the road and the views from the other lane . But , if you want to explore more of the beautiful area , go for it . Once you get back to Hwy 276 ( about 15 miles ), you can choose to head north over to Asheville , North Carolina ( 1hour 15 minutes ) or go south towards Greenville , South Carolina ( 1 hour 10 minutes ).
