Letters to the Editor THANK YOU FOR THE HEARTBEAT MAGAZINE Thank you for taking the time to speak with me this morning. I am excited about what the Lord has placed before me and have enjoyed connecting with folks such as you. I’m asking if you could assist by increasing the number of magazines our facility receives - we handle them with care. Thanks for your faithful service! Sunday morning, toured headquarters, Talihina ice cream/sofa fountain, buffet at the lodge on the moun- tain, Heavener Runestone State Park, Lake Wister and ate at the Southern Belle! My wife even had Mountain Man pinstripe her beautiful Harley, which he did beau- tifully. God is so good! It was an awesome vacation which ended much too soon! Chaplain Preston Davis Preston, Missouri Also wanted to say how much we enjoyed the snow- man group waving goodbye to us each evening after the services!! can't tell me God doesn't know and care about our needs...no matter how big or small. (Or how insignificant or unimportant we may think they are to God because they seem so small and silly to pray about.) God even hears and cares about our prayers that are UNSPOKEN. Recently, our daughter, Lexi, had a growth spurt. She outgrew everything, but especially needed win- ter items. Some unexpected expenses had also come up so we couldn’t just go spend a bunch of money on items for her. Even when we have a little extra for things we need, I like to find bargains, so I was shopping resale shops, clearance aisles and eBay to refill her closet. One morning, my mom called and said she had found a couple of coats for Lexi at a resale shop. Both coats were down filled and one of them was a name brand. I’m sure my mouth fell open because she had NO clue we had just been pricing those exact coats on eBay the night before. God blessed us with two great coats at an amazingly cheap price! I called my husband and told him all of this and how crazy it was being my mom had no idea what You Merle & Ruth Hunsberger Urbano, Ohio we'd been looking for. His response was, "yeah, but God knows." That's so true. God knew our needs and the desires of our hearts BEFORE we even spoke them. My Pops had a saying about God moments like this. “That’s not like God, that IS God!” As we enter into this New Year, remember God knows AND cares about the important and the mun- dane things in our lives. He wants us to talk to Him just like we talk to our best friend. We can tell him our concerns, needs, fears, everything. I’m so thankful He knows and He cares! “Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you” (1 Peter 5:7, KJV). "Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done” (Philippians 4:6, NLT). GREAT VACATION Please tell Tim Weddle we really enjoyed his Recommended Ride from Mena to Branson. We spent a couple days at Branson on our way to the Colors Rally and we reversed his ride, Peel Ferry, Feltner's What-A-Burger and all and we loved it. The Colors Rally was awesome! We made every meeting but
