THE LONE STAR RALLY, GALVESTON, TEXAS
Lone Star Rally is the
THE largest four-day motorcycle rally in North America, held every November on Galveston Island, Texas. This year, about 500,000 bikers showed up. The Christian Motorcyclists Association has been a big part of this event for around 15 years. With sand, surf, and lots of bikes, it’ s truly a salt life, biker style. Over the past three years, we’ ve changed how we approach this event and have seen God work in amazing ways through our members. For a long time, we struggled to meet our commitments to the rally promoter, sometimes at the expense of our true calling. Members were asked to work beyond their limits to get everything done. We decided to talk with the rally organizers and focus more on what we’ re called to do, while still keeping a good relationship with them. Three years later, I’ m still amazed at how the

Holy Spirit has guided us. The change wasn’ t easy and still has its challenges, but by trusting in Scripture, we’ ve seen our ministry outreach grow like never before. We begin with prayer, assigning each chapter a week to pray before the rally. Our main focus is on safety, volunteers, wisdom, and following God’ s will. We’ ve moved beyond just having a ministry tent and have expanded our street ministry. In the last five years, thanks to our Seasons of |
Refreshing training( Are You Ready, Accelerate, Biker 2 Biker), our words and stories have become our strongest tools.
We don’ t wait for people to come to us; we go out to meet them in the streets and parking lots. We have teams in the local hospital, a mechanical assistance team, Bike Blessing tents, graband-go bags for street ministry, and more. Salvations, rededications, and prayers have increased significantly at this event. We
