I have written several favorite rides for different areas but haven ’ t written one from my hometown . This is a ride Holly and I did for our anniversary . The cool point of the ride , and our reason for doing it , was to go to the highest point in Arkansas and eat at the highest restaurant in Arkansas . You may be able to say you have ridden and eaten at higher elevations , but you can ’ t say that you have in Arkansas .

The overall route takes you through the Ouachita Mountains and covers part of Oklahoma . You ’ ll have plenty of curves and mountain scenery while staying in rural America . It ’ s a fun , relaxing ride with lots of places to stop for taking in nature , whether it ’ s an overlook or hiking trail .
Leave Hatfield heading north on HWY 71 , go through Mena , and onto HWY 88 eastbound . That will take you to Pencil Bluff , where you will stop at a tee intersection . Hang a left for half a mile and turn right , putting you back on HWY 88 . There should be little to no traffic on this section ; enjoy the scenery and stay on 88 until another tee intersection , where you turn left , heading north on HWY 27 for about 25 miles . HWY 27 and 28 will run together for about 2 miles , where you will turn 08⎪FEBRUARY 2022⎪shop . cmausa . org
