GEAR REVIEW

AEROSTICH GLOVE COVERS of you have the
MANY luxury of choosing to avoid riding in the rain ; or at least you attempt to avoid riding in the rain . As National Evangelist , Shawna and I don β t always have the choice of which day or what weather to ride in . Those days that we pull out of the driveway with a steady rain ( if we are lucky , it β s about 40 degrees ) are the days that we truly have to lean on Jesus and learn to praise Him in the rain .
God has blessed us to be able to purchase good Gore-Tex riding jackets and pants , but we have never been able to find a good pair of rain-proof gloves that will last all day or multiple days of soaking rain . The experience of soaked through gloves that weigh 10 lbs ., or the leather dye stains your hand , or my best experience β my electric gloves get so saturated that I get shocked ( true story ).
Thanks to my trusted friend and awesome Alabama Area Rep Rick Braun , these woes are no more . Rick introduced me to Aerostich
Triple Digit Glove Covers . As many of you already know , Aerostich is a high-quality brand . Their riding products are second to none for safety , durability , comfort in all climates , and waterproofness . These over-gloves don β t disappoint . The price point of $ 57.00 before tax seems high , but for the quality of a breathable waterproof material , that is a reasonable price .
Obviously , they don β t look as cool as your gauntlet leather gloves , but if it β s pouring down rain , who cares ? They pack down to nothing and can easily be stored for the time that you need them . The gloves gauntlet style slips easily over your jacket and offers a quick pull drawstring that is easily manipulated with your three digits . The website sizing chart is fairly easy to understand . Just make sure you look at the guide for the glove covers , as they are sized differently . A riding tip that I got from Rick is to be careful not to let your arms hang down by your side in the rain at a traffic light . The rain will run down your arms into your gloves .
Many of you are probably wondering if you will lose dexterity with your controls while riding , and this may deter you from buying them . Yes , it won β t be as nice as wearing a nice tight-fitting pair of leather gloves , as you will have two sets of gloves on and only three gloved fingers at work . I would say that I don β t feel any less safe wearing these as when I have cold , wet hands in a pair of bulky winter riding gloves . Honestly , once you get accustomed to these , I believe you will handle controls just fine . And remember , you β ll take them off as soon as convenient .
Riding gear is always a personal preference and I know many of you don β t ride in the rain , only ride when it β s warm , or just get wet all together . As for me and Shawna , we are excited to add these to our gear so I can avoid the shock from my electric gloves in the winter rains down here in LA ( Lower Alabama ). CMA
