( continued from page 12) sold raffle tickets for it. They drew for that motorcycle at this event. The guy who won it walked over to the young man and asked him if he would like it, and of course, he did. So, the winner announced that he was donating the motorcycle to this young man. Before the night was over, we had the opportunity to see this young man climb on top of that motorcycle and sit on it!
Let me tell you how good God is! Four months prior, his parents were told he would not walk again, and that he was paralyzed from the neck down, to seeing him walk into this banquet and sit on his new motorcycle!
The latest update is that he is doing awesome in PT and OT, he is almost to the point of being able to remove the trach completely! He just needs to build up his lungs, as he has sleep apnea. This young man still has some things he must work on, but we continue to believe in that 100 % restoration!
Every year, we have so many events we all attend, bike shows, rallies, races, and so much more. My question: Are you just attending events, or are you investing in people?
Think about your own emergency contact list. Who is on it? Close family, doctors, maybe, these are people you’ re close with and trust. Have you made it onto somebody else’ s list? Have you invested in someone so that you may be one of the first people they call when they are in trouble?
We all get tunnel vision. We may go to an event, walk through a row of motorcycles, look over each one, yet we miss and walk past so many people without investing. Or how about when you go to Walmart, we have our list, and we are so focused on what we need to do that we don’ t slow down and look up at all the hurting people, who need prayer, a word of encouragement, and, most of all, they need Jesus.
Time is running short; Jesus is coming soon. This year, let us take time to slow down and invest in people. Take time to talk with someone about what is happening in their lives, pray with them, share with them, and just maybe you will make the list. CMA
