Various programmes in the national system
are available for coaches to observe and
learn from. Regional performance centres
(RPC) and regional development
programmes are available in every region
of England, with the Future Starz
programme available for those in Scotland.
All of these initiatives have a clear focus for
teaching basic skills and appropriate AoE.
These programmes, which are ideal for
developing coaches and observing or
gaining practical experience and
assessment, complement the club system,
with the main focus on the conclusion of
the club season. Coaches of all levels are
welcome to attend, observe and interact
with other coaches about the teaching of
basic skills and AoE in each of these
national programmes. The programmes are
also suitable for club coach leads.
Coaches should n ote that there is a
performance pathway for players
and coaches who wish to develop
beyond the club level or want to
experience coaching at different
levels with different players.
