Each city in Johnson County is represented with its own display case that houses items of interest for each city. While visiting the courthouse, be sure to check out the original marble work inside and historical statues outside.

Next door to the Cleburne Railroad Museum, be sure to note the Smith History Center, which is located in a former car dealership and garage built in 1914. Along a section of Main Street once known as“ Automobile Row” due to the many automobile-related businesses, a“ Sidewalk Exhibit” of cars in the shop windows can be viewed only from the sidewalk and is a charming reminder of how the area once appeared.

When you visit the Dinosaur Science Museum, you have the unique opportunity to interact with one of America’ s largest dinosaur fossil collections. It is on the campus of Southwestern Adventist University where more than 30,000 dinosaur bones are cleaned, cataloged and preserved.
The museum offers the unique and rewarding opportunity to quarry in an extremely rich bone bed, where the remains of several upper Cretaceous dinosaurs are being found. The project provides an exciting experience in the quarrying techniques and the joy of discovery for all participants.
