Van users
are missing
a trick or
two....
Van users who think fuel
cards are just about refuelling
are missing a trick or two,
according to Steve Clarke.
Network
VEKA “leads”
the way
Members of Network VEKA have
been making the most of a local lead
generation programme from the trade
organisation, with more than 4,168 leads
generated last year alone from the digital
web tools.
As part of their membership to Network
VEKA, members have always had free
enquiries that are generated from the main
Network VEKA website.
Network VEKA MD John Ogilvie
explains: “Although members benefit from
enquiries generated centrally by Network
VEKA, they may also supplement these
by investing in dedicated digital support,
including a series of web tools or a
complete new website. Our members can
access a toolbox which enables them to
review and control their websites, enhance
their reputation, push them higher up on
the Google rankings and effectively, double
their sales enquiries overnight.
“With the home improvement industry
becoming more and more competitive,
Network VEKA’s Web Tools allow
members to capitalise on this with a strong
online presence and a professional looking
website. To date, Network VEKA members
have received more than 1,543 customer
reviews on the growing All Checked site.”

Steve is well qualified to comment, being
marketing manager for The Fuelcard
People, a Fuel Card Group company.
Their customers can use the fuel cards
themselves for a variety of non-fuel purposes,
from lubricants to M6 tolls. As customers,
they can also opt for CO2Count, the only
service offering vehicle emissions reporting
to Defra standards, and can apply for the
Discount Service Card. This free card offers
significant savings of up to 50% on tyres,
exhausts, batteries and more.
‘the first good
reason to be
switching supplier’
“Fuel cards are not all the same,” said Steve
Clarke, “and nor are fuel card suppliers.
Anyone running vans should expect cheaper
fuel, with no transaction charges, to be only
the start of the benefits. They should be asking
their dedicated account manager about this –
and if there is not a named individual looking
after their account, that is just the first good
reason to be switching supplier.”
