GLASS&SEALEDUNITS One million milestone Over one million pieces of Saint-Gobain glass have been supplied to Morley Glass & Glazing by GLASSOLUTIONS in the last 10 years mainly for use in the company’s Uni-Blind double-glazed sealed units with ScreenLine integral blinds inside. Give them the key to the door, they’ve never been 21 before » » LOCKWOOD WINDOWS established in 1998 and has been a loyal KÖMMERLING fabricator right from day one. Earlier this year the team was approached by one of its very first customers with a request for a new front window and high security entrance door. Karen Lowther purchased a window and a panel door from Lockwood Windows right back in 1998 and although the kitchen window and front door are still in perfect working order, she decided it was time for an upgrade. Karen got back in touch with Lockwood Windows at the beginning of 2019 and was impressed to see the wide range of window and door styles, colours and options that have been added to their product range in recent years. After careful consideration a Chartwell Green, Flint style composite door with a KÖMMERLING door frame was chosen, to complement the Yorkshire stone house perfectly. The window and door that were taken out are now back at Lockwood Windows as a display, showing the longevity of modern PVCu and the excellent product engineering. » » IAN SHORT, MANAGING DIRECTOR of Morley Glass & Glazing was presented with a glass wall plaque to mark the milestone. He said: “We pride ourselves on manufacturing high quality sealed units, the majority of which are supplied with integral blinds inside for the bifold door market, as well as a wide range of other doors and windows for the residential and commercial markets. “The quality of the glass is paramount, and we are very satisfied with the range of Saint-Gobain glass from GLASSOLUTIONS. The Planitherm range offers superb comfort qualities such as thermal efficiency and solar control, as well as noise reduction, furniture face protection and security properties. For added solar control we have also been impressed with the SGG COOL-LITE range. I’m honoured to receive the plaque which will take pride of place in our showroom.” www.morleyglass.co.uk SECOND INVESTMENT BOOST TOPS 500K IN ONE YEAR » » GLASS MANUFACTURER TUFFX HAS taken its investment over the £500,000 mark for this year alone, with a new £250,000 Bottero cutting line that’s set to boost the growing company’s cutting output by over a third. The investment comes only months after TuffX spent over £300,000 on three new machines - a Bovone ELB 12 HD straight line edging machine, a Delta Radius corner grinding machine, and a Schiatti drilling machine. The highly-advanced, multi-functional Modulinea cutting line can load, cut, grind, mark and break out glass sheets from 1.5metres square up to 6.1m X 3.3m and up to 25mm thick, and also features a unique automatic label function. It has a tilting table for handling flat glass sheets, a highly automated air cushioned shape cutting table, a six-station double-sided loader, and many other advanced features. TuffX Managing Director Graham Price says the new line not only helps stay ahead of growing demand for products but also ensures that its tight lead times and high standards of service are not only maintained, but surpassed. www.tuffxglass.co.uk www.lockwoodwindows.co.uk www.kommerling.co.uk C L E A RV I E W-U K .
