SKYFALL FOR CHARITY
»»REHAU’s team of ‘Redkite’
charity fundraisers finally lived up to their
name in August, when they successfully
completed a series of tandem skydives –
jumping at 15,000 feet from a plane flying
over Honiton in Devon.
The team of nine, which included four
from REHAU’s window division, have
already raised more than £5,000 for the
Prostate Cancer charity and are appealing for
last minute sponsorship via the website at:

REHAU’s Marketing Communications
Manager Irene Smith, who jumped alongside
Communications Coordinator Faye
Tompkins, Marketing and Technical Director
Gareth Jones and Applications Engineer
Edward Kodia, said: “We thought it would
be a once in a lifetime experience but in
fact we all enjoyed it so much, we’re already
planning how we might do it all again next
year raising funds for another charity like
Prostate Cancer, which is close to everyone’s
hearts.”
Irene added: “We had so much amazing
support from friends, colleagues and the
industry, we’re really grateful for every penny
we received in sponsorship and want to say
a huge thank you to everyone who made the
jump such a success.”

Retaining a traditional look
»»The classical character of a
traditional Lancashire civic building has
been restored with Heritage Vertical Sliders
manufactured by Glazerite Windows Ltd.
The windows, installed at Chorley Town
Hall by Bolton-based CarMan Plastics, were
designed to replicate the existing unrepairable
timber sashes using traditional features such as
deep bottom rails, continuous sash horns and
white woodgrain.
“The hardest part of the job was matching
all the windows,” said CarMan Managing
Director Manny Beattie, “they wanted to
replicate the old windows as closely as they
could, even some that were arched.”
He added: “We’ve been buying from
Glazerite for a couple of years now and they
are brilliant; we’ve never had any problems at
all.”
‘never had any problems’
Chorley Borough Council will not only
be saving on heating bills with the ‘A’ Rated
PVCu windows but there was an added cost
saving as the building was already scaffolded
for other maintenance work that was going on
at the same time.
