Trekking up over’ Dales
»»Charles Pierce, Head of Roof
Assured by Sarnafil, joined three other
members of Sika Roofing to walk and hike in
the Oxfam Trailtrekker 2015 event.
With more than 130 teams taking part in
this greuling challenge, the event was a huge
success.
The teams took on the once in a lifetime
experience by walking 100km through the
Yorkshire Dales in 30 hours or less, to raise
money for Oxfam.
The event consisted of trekking through
the Yorkshire Dales all day and night, and saw
walkers experiencing an altitude of more than
Ben Nevis and Snowdonia put together.
The courageous #teamsikaroofing managed
to raise over £3,500 in sponsorship for Oxfam,
Charles commented: “It was a once in a
lifetime experience that I personally will never
forget, and to be able to do it all for charity
made up for the blisters and tiredness we all
experienced.”

»»The British weather
was once again kind for
Edgetech UK, a Quanex

Dealership golf day at De Vere
Staverton Park Golf Club.
Speaking at the event, Adrian
Barraclough, Renaissance
Window Systems said: “The
Edgetech golf day has become a
feature of the calendar. It’s been
great every year. All heads of
the industry talking and doing
business in a relaxed atmosphere
and just enjoying it.”
At the evening meal, trophies
were presented to the winning
teams and individuals. Gareth
Edwards from Synseal, Joe
Hague from Promac, Jeremy
Kemp from Padiham Glass and
Andy Jones were presented the
trophy for winning team.
Every year, Edgetech chooses
a charity and this year it
approached Nick Gibbons,
Operations Director at
Customade UK Ltd to ask if
it could support The Spring
Centre which Nick’s daughter
accesses. The charity helps
children with special needs
throughout Gloucester.
“We had a record turnout of
people joining us both in the
day and evening,” says Andy
Jones, managing director at
Edgetech UK. “The generosity
of our guests meant we raised
£8,835 for The Spring Centre.
It was a great day all round.”
