AluK specified for the Winner
of British Home Awards 2014
»»Contemporary architects, AR
Design Studio, specified AluK’s aluminium
building systems for the 4Views residential
project in Winchester, which received the
Sunday Times, British Home Awards 2014,
‘One-off House or Extension’ category.
AluK window and door systems were
specified to enhance the views over the South
Downs hills, and to provide the homeowners
with a long-lasting solution that will keep
their home safe.
The project included; AluK BSC94 (Duo
Rail) and BSC94 (Triple Track) Sliding Door
System, as well as 58BW ST (Duo Rail) Steel
Replacement Window System.
Laura Locke, Architect at AR Design
Studio, said: “Selecting the window systems
to frame the views was important to us and
to our client. The modern frames with clean
lines of the floor-to-ceiling sliding doors and
windows reinforced our contemporary design
philosophy.”
In addition, AluK’s building systems have
been designed to offer customers the highest
thermal performance levels, keeping the heat
inside the house, reducing energy bills as well
as carbon footprint.
AluK window and door systems are all
tested to PAS24 for enhanced security, and
most are certified by Secured by Design
scheme where applicable.
