More Door Sales
in its 20th Year
» » HURST PLASTICS’ 20TH
year in business has seen
production of its composite fire
doors rise by more than 40%
and sales of composite doors
within the trade and commercial
markets grow by 10% and 20%
respectively.
The latest year-end figures from
Hurst Plastics follow a period of
major investment in resources,
plant and machinery across all
areas of the business to enable the
firm to keep pace with its future
growth strategy.
Mark Atkinson, Sales Director
at Hurst Plastics, explains:
“We are very pleased with our
performance over the last 12
months, particularly in composite
doors and composite fire doors
which have both delivered
impressive growth. Fire doors
now represent around 30% of
our turnover which is indicative
of how demand for them has
grown. We are very encouraged
by these results, particularly in the
commercial sector where there is
plenty of further growth potential
in social and local authority
housing. The domestic sector
has delivered relative growth too
and that reflects the continuing
shift among homeowners from
budget entrance doors to higher
end, higher performing composite
doors.
“In line with the recent
Palmer report, which predicts
significant growth of composite
doors through to 2020, we expect
sales of our composite doors to
continue to grow over the next
few years. This will not just come
down to luck though; it will be
in no small part because of the
ambitious investment the business
has made and the emphasis we
place on delivering consistently
high levels of service.
“We’ve worked hard to make
our business the ‘easiest to work
with’ and we have developed
a comprehensive package that
helps customers to seamlessly
integrate with us. We are proud
of our achievements and, despite
being in a competitive industry,
we maintain the lead in some key
areas. We have the largest external
sales team within the composite
door market and our OTIF record
is above 98.5%, which we believe
is the best in the industry.”
Sales of Hurst Plastics’ door
panels have also grown in the last
year, indicating that there is still
demand for them, despite the
growing popularity of composite
doors. Although considered
a ‘mature’ product, Hurst
manufactures at least 2,000 door
panels a week.

APPEAL CONTINUES
TO GROW
» » PATIOMASTER’S APPEAL
is continuing to grow amongst
fabricators, installers and
homeowners and for Carmen
Velilla, PatioMaster’s Brand
Manager, there are several
good reasons for this. “We’re
the market leaders because by
specialising in manufacturing
patio doors we’re recognised as
the experts. Then there’s our
business model. We offer the
reassurance and power of a
nationwide brand but with our
network of local fabricators and
installers, both businesses and
homeowners can support their
local economy. It’s the best of
both worlds.”
PatioMaster’s inline sliding
doors offer some of the best
features in the business and
the company’s expertise is
evident in every detail. The
doors are perfect for design-
conscious homeowners
because of their elegant
aesthetics and superb quality.
They have low profile frames
and are available in a wide
range of configurations,
colours and finishes. They are
complemented with impressive
security features such as a six
point locking system and a
wide ran ge of accessories.
The doors are a dream for
installers too. They are easy to
fit and get right first time and
come with easy-to-use fitting
kits for exteriors, porch and
room divider sliding doors.
The slimline profiles mean
less damage to the plaster on
fitting while free technical
support from national and
regional teams provide
complete peace of mind.
And there are advantages
for fabricators choosing to
buy-in sliding doors rather
than manufacture in-house.
Perhaps the most compelling
of these is the rise in profit
margins because the unexpected
overheads, hidden costs and
disruption of producing doors
in-house are removed.
Each door is manufactured
by the customer’s nearest
PatioMaster regional
manufacturer and is typically
delivered within five working
days, helping to speed up
installation and invoicing
schedules for both fabricators
and installers. Every regional
manufacturer operates to
the same high standards and
offers a friendly, efficient and
personalised service.
Having a portfolio that
attracts your target market
is vital to the success of your
business. By partnering with
PatioMaster, not only do you
get products that meet market
demand you also get marketing
leading advantages for your
business too.
