INDUSTRYNEWS 3rd year in business » » PVCU SPECIALIST AND THE Glazerite UK Group Ltd customer, EnviroGlaze SW Ltd is celebrating its third anniversary after opening its doors in 2014 with just one employee. Director Nick Barnes took the plunge and set up EnviroGlaze with a wealth of industry experience behind him, and hasn’t looked back since. “Since the company was founded we have achieved significant growth, going from a turnover of £175k in year one to £670k in year two, and we continue to grow as we head in to our third year. “Originally offering just windows and doors, we have extended our product offering to meet customer demand, and choose to buy from Glazerite as they offer a comprehensive range of VEKA products, which we believe to be the best on the market. Being able to buy everything from one trade supplier has been great, and the relationship that we have with them is second to none.” Enviroglaze now supplies the Guardian warm roof which has really taken off in the South West and the company is anticipating further growth this year. The Plymouth-based company, which now employs six people and has Steve Deaton spearheading sales, has also taken full advantage of the marketing support on offer from the leading trade manufacturer and as Steve says, the support has been invaluable: “Glazerite has helped us with getting flyers printed and showroom support and the whole process is really easy.” Glazerite’s Group Marketing Manager, Michelle Wright adds: “The marketing support that we offer our installers is core in what we do, and through partners such as Network VEKA, we are able to offer a marketing support package that is simply not offered anywhere else. We are always thrilled to see a new company, like EnviroGlaze, see such significant growth and it is a great example of how we can work together to develop a strong and sustainable business.” www.enviroglazesw.co.uk, www.glazeritewindows.co.uk Bi-fold earns a Queen’s Award » » INNOVATION HAS ALWAYS BEEN KEY to the success of Liniar – and this philosophy has now been acknowledged at the highest level with a Queen’s Award for Enterprise. The accolade, recognising outstanding achievement in the Innovation category, has been bestowed upon the Liniar ModLok™ bi-folding door, testament to the impact the ground- breaking product has had on the fenestration industry since its launch in 2014. The unique ModLok™ exoskeleton, combining reinforcement and security with a patented thermal lock, offers a PVCu bi-fold that acts as an aluminium door. The prestigious annual awards, announced on the Queen’s birthday, means Liniar joins a very select group of UK businesses to be honoured by Her Majesty. Only 1,357 companies have been awarded the Innovation accolade since it was launched 51 years ago, with Liniar among around just 50 firms adding to that list this year. With just over 6,000 companies receiving a Queen’s Award across all categories since its 1966 inception, this highlights how difficult it is to earn the honour. 18 » JUN 2017 » CL EARVI E W- UK . C O M “The Queen’s Award is the ultimate tribute for a business,” said Liniar CEO Roger Hartshorn. “So to win an award, particularly for innovation, is a massive honour. “I’m delighted that the Liniar ModLok™ bi-fold has been recognised for its revolutionary design. It’s a great reflection on the exceptional team we have here and the high standards of the products we have created. “Not only is this award great news for us as a company, but it’s also fantasti c for our customers who will benefit from the prestige that this will bring by underlining the outstanding quality of the ModLok™ bi-fold to homeowners . The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are the highest official UK awards for British businesses and were established by Royal Warrant in 1965. The awards are made on the advice of the Prime Minister after examination of applications by an advisory committee composed of leading individuals from industry, commerce, trade unions and government. Roger has been invited to attend a reception held by Her Majesty The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh at Buckingham Palace, and Liniar will be visited during the year by a royal representative to present the physical award of a crystal chalice and scroll. http://www.liniar.co.uk/doors/pvcu-bifold/ modlok-bi-fold
